After playing the game once and getting through a fair amount of the beginning part, i decided to take a break and come back to it later but i never did because, needless to say, i haven't gotten it to work since then. When i first got the game, it took me about 10 minutes to actually get it to work, mostly through trial-and-error luck because i kept getting the "disc read error" message when i put the disc in. Blue-back discs are much harder to read in your PS2 and are far more likely to become unreadable, as my copy of the game has become. The actual game aside, i have to bring up why i gave this 3 stars.buyer beware, copies of this game are printed on the dreaded "blue-back" disc type, unlike your typical silver-back ones. You also have 3 different weapons (all with unlimited ammo) and each one comes in handy for different applications. This is a really solid Contra game and it improves upon everything the original ones lacked, most notably how you can lock your firing direction and run at the same time, which is a really nice feature i felt Contra and Super C always needed (i never played the ones on SNES, so i'm not sure if those games already had that, but it feels so good to use). Before i say anything else, i have to mention that the 3-star rating is in no way a reflection of the gameplay at all.
